Making Christ at Home in Our Hearts Catholic Identity WOW! It was exciting to see how many students received first honors, second honors and AR awards this morning after Mass. The SJS students continue to impress us! We are excited about our SJS Open House this Sunday, November 19, 12:30-2:00 pm. We are hoping to have many new families come visit and find out about our National Blue Ribbon School. Thanks to the five families that have signed up to give tours. We would love for the school children to wear their uniforms on Sunday! The SJS volunteers and families need to be here at 12 noon for a short meeting before the day begins. Thanks to the STUCO students for volunteering to help on Sunday too! There will be fun activities for the young children in the FCC. Thank you to the families that brought in a toy for the Church of the Good Shepherd Church in Campton, KY. Many children will be happy on Christmas morning! Grades 1-3 will be having a Christmas concert in church on Thursday, December 14 at 7pm. This will be a great way for all of us to get in the Christmas spirit!

$1 donation. The proceeds from this day will be donated to support the Seminary Ball Fundraiser. Teacher Christmas Letter A letter from the Christmas Gift Committee concerning teacher Christmas gifts went home with each student last week. A copy of this letter is also attached to this newsletter. TOMORROW – Lifetouch School Picture Retake Day Students who need their pictures retaken will need to return their entire picture packet to the photographer on Picture-Retake Day – Thursday, November 16. Students who are having their pictures taken may be out of uniform. P3 students will also have their pictures taken on this day. There will be no Newsletter the week of November 20. Our next newsletter will be November 29. Breakfast With Santa This fun, family, annual event will be held on Saturday, December 2 in Noll Hall. Come enjoy breakfast, playing games and making crafts with Santa’s elves, shopping in Santa’s North Pole Shop, and the chance to sit on Santa’s lap and get your pictures taken with him…..all while supporting the 8th grade’s class project. See the attached flyer to purchase your tickets! You may also purchase tickets online at the following link: http://sjscrescent.net/index.php/13-sjsnewsletter/102-breakfast-with-santa

November 8, 2017 Dear Parents, The Christmas Holidays are approaching quickly and once again we would like to ask your help in showing our appreciation to all the teachers and staff at St. Joseph School. We are counting on your generosity in making a donation toward Christmas gifts. The money collected from all families will be divided and used to purchase gift certificates for each teacher including teacher aides, music teacher, physical education teacher, etc. The students will be told which gift certificates their teacher will be receiving. We hope that this will save you the time and energy normally spent in purchasing individual gifts. In the past some children did still give their homeroom teacher a small gift; however, this is not really necessary, as the teachers do understand that their "wish list" gift is made possible through the generosity of their students and students' families. While we do not want to ask for a specific amount from each family, we suggest that you consider the amount you might normally spend as a family in purchasing teachers' gifts and send this to school in an envelope marked "TEACHERS." You may enclose cash or a check made payable to St. Joseph School. Your child may send the envelope to the office in his/her homeroom's message envelope. We ask that all contributions be turned in by December 5 so that our committee will have time to coordinate the gifts. We thank you in advance for your generosity. Sincerely, Christmas Gift Committee
