Making Christ at Home in Our Hearts Catholic Identity THANK YOU to the many people who made our 2018 Hike to Help a huge success. Thanks to the parents and families who gave financial help. We also appreciate the help of Mark McFadden, Castellini, Erlanger Police, and Remke’s Market as well as Julie Barczak and Shannon Hollenkamp. It was a beautiful day to take a two mile hike! We raised $37,645.00. We are in the process of getting bids for our roof project so hopefully we will have enough to fix the roof and purchase some new Clevertouch boards for the classrooms. The 8th grade Confirmation students will be working on the school grounds this Sunday afternoon. They will be clearing out old landscaping and replacing it with new plants donated by two generous donors. Thank you to an anonymous donor and Raymond Landscaping. We appreciate your kindness! Thanks to everyone who voted for Ms. Zeck to get a monster makeover. She did not win this contest but appreciates everyone who took the time to vote for her. We enjoyed having SJS graduate Jason Bessler visit the school on Monday to show us his new book that he wrote and illustrated! Report Cards Yesterday, Mrs. Iles emailed parents the information to access their child’s report cards. Please be sure to follow her directions to sign the report card electronically. This will allow the teachers to make sure that you have seen the report card.

Hello SJS parents! I’m Jason Bessler. I once roamed the halls of St. Joseph School (class of 2006), then went on to Cov Cath and the Art Academy of Cincinnati. Monday, I had the pleasure of reading my brand new children’s picture book, The Witch’s Mess, to your child. In fact, it’s so new, it’s not yet in print. Your child got a first look! The story is about a young, messy witch, Brindal, and her magic broom she calls Broom. Brindal has made a mess of things, quite literally as well as figuratively. Broom gets stuck cleaning up the constant mess. All the while, Brindal just wants to go flying! As a gap grows between the two friends, Broom finally snaps! How will Brindal react? Will they ever find the harmony and adventure which they both seek? Ask your child, he/she knows the answer ; ) I am currently raising funds on Kickstarter so that I can self-publish the book. Learn more about the book and pre-order your copy by going to www.jasonbessler.com and following the Kickstarter link. Have a wonderful day! Jason
